Father's Day Gift Guide 2018
by Andy Murphy, The Secure Dad
Father’s Day is coming up fast! The Secure Dad’s 2018 Father’s Day Gift Guide has what dads really want. The Secure Dad has 10 real things that dads will love to get this July 17th. I’ve derived this list from stuff I see dads using and talking about every day. This post contains affiliate links but that just makes it easier to order, right?
The Secure Dad Father's Day Gift Guide 2017
1) WeMo Smart Plugs
I’ve raved about WeMo Smart Plugs for years. These smart plugs are fun to use and can help you make your home more secure while you’re gone. These integrate with the Amazon Echo and have dozens of great uses. These smart plugs are fun and easy to use.
2) Home Security: The Secure Dad’s Guide
Does your dad check all of the doors before he goes to bed every night? If so, this book is perfect for him. New for 2018, Home Security: The Secure Dad’s Guide. Learn how to see your home through the eyes of a criminal and then make a plan to keep criminals out.
iPhone users may need to search Amazon app for "The Secure Dad".
3) Krave Beef Jerky
A tasty treat is a great gift for the dad on your list. Skip the cufflinks and ties and go straight for his heart… through his stomach. This Krave 10 pack has a variety you dad is sure to love. These can be devoured in a week or slowly enjoyed for a month.
4) StealthGearUSA Slim Wallet
Your dad probably has a dad wallet. You know what I mean. A bifold wallet that is overstuffed, won’t close and causes his leg to cramp. Don’t worry, he needs a slim wallet. The best one you can get (in my opinion) is the StealthGearUSA Slim Wallet. I personally carry one and just did a full review of it.
5) Star Wars LEGO
I know I’m putting Lego on my Father’s Day Gift Guide, but men still enjoy these. Buy a set and tell him it’s for building with the kids. That’ll be a nice cover story that lets him have fun and connect with the kids. Just make sure you monitor them when they build, don’t let him hog all of the fun.
6) Ring Doorbell
Amazon purchased the company that makes Ring just after it launched the Ring 2 Wi-Fi doorbell. Because of that, the original Ring Doorbell is only $99. Of course, you can get the Ring 2, but to get the original for this price is great. The Ring Doorbell has a video camera, two-way audio and can alert your phone when someone approaches your door. And of course, it works with Alexa.
7) High Speed Daddy Tactical Diaper Bag Backpack
I know it seems like I’m always promoting this bag, but I’ve had mine for a year now and it’s been rock solid. This bag is perfect for new dads, dads with teens and dad whose kids are grown up. This is one of the best purchases I’ve ever made. Plus the family behind HSD are awesome folks to support.
8) Engraved Ball and Bat
For the sports dad, check out this unique gift. This an engraved baseball and bat make a great addition to someone’s man cave. Put a personal message on it that says you love him or put an important date or sports score. You can do a lot with this set.
9) Ryobi Tool Set
I finally started buying Ryobi tools a few years back and they are great. They’ve done everything I’ve asked of them. Normally you find these at Home Depot. What makes Ryobi power tools so special is the One+ system. That means that the battery style stays consistent. No more buying new tools because the batteries won’t fit anymore.
10) Leatherman Wingman
Leatherman has a heritage of creating useful, dependable multitools. I’ve had several over the years and the only reason I bought more is that I wanted them. The Wingman is the most popular multitool by Leatherman. It sports a screwdriver, saw, file, wrench and wire cutter. Plus a whole lot more. These are good for everyday carry and storage in the car for an emergency. You can’t go wrong with a Leatherman.
Have a great Father's day. I hope a gift from this guide will help you put a smile on the face of the Secure Dad in your life. Remember when you go shopping, do your best to hide your items in your car in the trunk or cargo area. This will help you avoid a potential break-in.
